When I recently took on a publicist, our first agenda item was to try to get more attention for the gravely under-publicized released, Sub-Intellect from 2009. I am very happy to announce that despite the release date, embarrassingly distant in the ultra-novel world of radio, Sub-Intellect can still impress.
My philosophy with music is that despite the age of the music, all music you’ve never heard before is new to you. I try to write in a way that is original but not too gimmicky and I think it is having the intended effect.
KMNR Radio, affiliated with University of Missouri, just added LowHero.DLL to their playlist and in the deejay’s blog gave a very flattering mini review. You can read the whole blog entry here because April also mentions a few other bands you may want to check out but I’ve pulled out the bits pertaining to LowHero.DLL below:
This week’s ADDs blew me away! Then I also got a CD with copyright date 2009 that should be a lot more popular than it is. …
sub-intellect by LowHero.DLL is an amazing display of creativity that he just decided to share with the rest of the world. This album was released in 2009 but has an 80’s electronic sound interwoven with melodic lines and autotune. The lyrics are engaging. I LOVE the tracks “L~o~v~e” “Escape Swim” and “Open Mind” remixed by Testube. …
You should definitely give all these a listen/play, but if you don’t have time for all of them, particularly Twenty One Pilots and LowHero.DLL.
How much do I love KMNR right now? Lots. Also great to see a mention for Testube’s remix of Open Mind. Hopefully we’ll see more raves like this as the CDs make their way into the hands of more radio deejays and web zines.
